About the game

What is Perfect XI?

Perfect XI is a free, browser-based football draft-and-simulation game. Spin a club and a season, draft an all-time starting eleven one position at a time, then simulate a full 38-game campaign and find out how far your side can go — all the way, if you're good and a little lucky, to a perfect unbeaten record.

The idea

Every football fan has argued about the greatest XI you could assemble from a club's history, or across an entire league. Perfect XI turns that pub argument into a quick, repeatable game. You don't get a free pick of anyone you like — a wheel lands on a real club and season, and you draft one player from that squad into an open position. Eleven rounds later your eleven is complete, and the season engine does the rest.

The result is a game that is easy to learn, fast to play, and endlessly replayable. One close run makes the next attempt feel necessary rather than optional, which is exactly why people keep coming back to build "just one more" team.

How it works

Perfect XI runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create — you open the page and play. Under the hood it draws on a large database of historic squads, assigns every player a rating and a set of positions they genuinely played, and then simulates a league season by weighing each line of your team: the goalkeeper, the defensive spine, the midfield, and the attack. One weak link anywhere caps how far you can go, which is what makes a flawless season so demanding.

The game has grown into several modes: the core Premier League draft, where you chase a perfect 38-0 season; a World Cup mode, where you can build a mixed World XI by drafting one player from each nation you roll, or lead a single country through the tournament; and a head-to-head Versus mode, where two drafted teams play each other.

About the ratings and data

Player and team ratings in Perfect XI are a fan interpretation built for gameplay. They are derived from a public football dataset and tuned so that drafting feels fair and the simulation behaves sensibly. They are not official ratings and are not endorsed by any club, league, or ratings provider. They exist only to make the game work and to give every era a fighting chance.

Perfect XI is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Premier League, FIFA, any club, or any official data provider. All club and player names belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

Who makes it

Perfect XI is a solo, independent project, built and maintained by one developer who loves football and the history of the game. It is free to play, and small voluntary tips help keep the servers running and new features coming.
