What is Perfect XI?

Perfect XI is a free English top-flight draft game where you build an all-time XI from 11,077 player seasons spanning every Premier League campaign from 1992 to 2026.

Spin the wheel to land on a real Premier League club from a specific season, draft players from that squad, and build your team one position at a time. Mix modern superstars with legends from the 90s, 2000s, 2010s and beyond to create your ultimate XI.

Once your squad is complete, simulate a full 38-game season and see how far your XI can go. Matches are simulated with a Dixon-Coles model — the same statistical framework used in professional football analytics — with attack and defence ratings, home advantage and expected goals, so the results behave like real football rather than dice rolls. Can you go the season unbeaten?

Ratings are handcrafted estimates of each player's ability in that specific season, on a scale of roughly 60–97. Prime Mode rates every player at their career-best instead.

Your squad's average rating is converted into a strength value, then matched against 19 simulated opposition teams across 38 home and away fixtures using a Poisson goal model.

A separate mode where you draft a national-team XI — either a real qualified nation or your own World XI — and play through a group stage and knockout rounds to the final, with every match simulated live.

Perfect XI (perfectxi.app) is a free browser-based football draft game run independently. For any privacy questions contact perfectxigame@gmail.com.

What data we collect

Google Analytics (GA4) — We use Google Analytics to understand site visits. GA4 automatically collects pages visited, time on site, device type, browser, and approximate country derived from your IP address (which is then anonymised before storage). It sets cookies _ga and _gid to distinguish returning visitors.

Local Storage — Your game progress (trophy cabinet, draft history, achievements) is saved in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device. We cannot access it. We collect no names, emails, payment information, or any directly identifying data.

Why we collect it

Analytics data is collected under Legitimate Interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) to understand how the game is used and improve it. We do not use this data for advertising and do not share it with anyone other than Google.

Third parties

The only third-party service is Google Analytics. To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all sites, use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, request erasure of, or object to processing of your analytics data. You can delete your local game data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage. To exercise these rights email perfectxigame@gmail.com. You may also complain to the ICO.

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months before automatic deletion.
